The 6-foot-9 Carter, who began his career
at Crawford High, has extensive experience
on the court. He led Southwestern College
to one of its finest seasons ever in 1992,
guiding the then-Apaches (now Jaguars) as
a powerful post player to the final eight
in the state playoffs. He continued on to
play at San Diego State in the early 1990s.
As a professional player he competed for
teams overseas, as well as in the American
Basketball Association (ABA) for the San
Diego Wildcats. He closed his career with
the Harlem Globetrotters.

with so many great experiences in his basketball
career,” said athletic directory ROBERT
WILSON. “Marc joined our school’s
support staff in January. It will be valuable
to have another on-campus coach at our school.”
Matadors' Branch selects Fresno State over CSUN,
UNLV
SPRING VALLEY (8-25-14) — Mount Miguel senior-to-be
guard ZARIA BRANCH has accepted a scholarship to Division
I Fresno State, selecting the Bulldogs over Cal State
Northridge and UNLV.
The Mountain West Conference school features a student
body of 21,500.
The 5-foot-8 Branch captured a fistful of postseason
honors, including first team All-EastCountySports.com
and first team All-Grossmont Valley League. She was
named to the California All State Division 3 second
team as selected by MaxPreps.com.
She finished her junior year averaging 13.9 points per
game for the Matadors.

The 5-foot-11 Blanks captured a fistful of postseason

Wolverines, who finished 7-23 a year ago.

The 5-foot-11 senior was selected to the All-EastCountySports.com
first team for the last two years as well as earning
Player of the Year honors both years. She made third
team EastCountySports.com as a sophomore.
The Matadors sharpshooter also was on the All-Grossmont
Valley League first team and Player of the Year as a
junior and a senior, and was on the third team GVL as
a sophomore.
Blanks finished her senior year averaging 23.2 points
per game, 7.5 rebounds, 3.1 blocks per game, 3 assists
and 5 steals per game.
The Tigers (22-9 last season) are a community college
located in Arkansas City, Kan.
The 5-foot-10 wing was on the All-East County Sports.com
team as a senior and as a junior, and on the Grossmont
Valley League team as a senior, averaging 14.5 points
and 12.1 rebounds per game for the league champion Matadors
(17-10).
