TOP: The Santee Heat 12U softball team were runners-up at the ASA Western Nationals after posting a 6-2 record. The team captured three games on Championship Sunday, including a revenge victory over the So. Cal. Starz to advance to the final, but dropped the title game to So. Cal Synergy, 3-1. Still, the team earned an automatic berth to next season's ASA nationals. The roster includes starters: Haley Burton (1B), Taylor Barry (2B), Ariel Rasmussen (3B), Alicia Zuniga (SS), Felicia Vincent and Jenna Bales (LFs), Alex Breidt (CF), Marrissa Datko (RF), Jaymee Bush (P), and Kayti Grable (C). The reserves feature Christine Campbell (P), Amber Schisler (P-DH) and Brianna Datko (LF). The coaching staff is manager Adele Sanberg, and assistants Mark Burton and Jim Bush.

BOTTOM: Santee 10-Under All-Stars finished in fourth place at the ASA NAtionals in New Mexico.
This was the highest placing team in Santee history, plus they were also the highest placing team from San Diego County this summer.
