SAN DIEGO (4-20-16) – The El Capitan Vaqueros traveled to Ocean Beach to take on High Tech SD in non-league action, Tuesday (Apr. 19) but unfortunately dropped a 9-2 decision.
The Vaqueros would take an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning as leadoff hitter ZANDRA RAGALE (run) drew a walk, ALLYSON VON YOKES (1-4, R, 2B) sacrificed her over to second, and KIM GARCIA (2-4, RBI) drove her to third on a single and GRACE BURKETT (2-3, RBI, 2B) drove her in with a single. However the lead didn’t last as High Tech scored twice in the bottom of the first inning to lead 2-1. They would score two more in the bottom of the third to extend their lead to 4-1.
High Tech would score five runs over the fifth and sixth innings to push their lead to 9-1. El Capitan added a run in the top of the seventh as Von Yokes doubled and would come into score when Garcia singled.
