The Eagles sent out HALLE KYLER to take the start in the circle and she promptly went the full 7 innings for the complete game victory, gave up the one run which was earned on 2 hits, walked 3 and struck out 6 in the process.
Offensively the Eagles were able to score in the second inning when RILEY AGERBEEK singled, ERICA SIMON came in as a courtesy runner and stole second base, MORGAN KELLY knocked her in with a ripped double to make it 1-0. Granite Hills tacked on another run in the fourth inning as Agerbeek again singled, Simon came into run for her, SYDNEY HUSE doubled advancing Simon to third, Kelly came up and singled which scored Simon to make it 2-0.

Mater Dei 4, Grossmont 3 – In a close Falcon Fiesta Tournament contest the Mater Dei Crusaders would hold onto beat the Grossmont Foothillers 4-3, Saturday (Apr. 2).

However in the top of the third inning the Foothillers would take a 2-1 lead behind a single by SAMARIA ROOPE to left, KAILEY DANIELS came in as a courtesy runner, DESTINY BACON doubled which scored Daniels. CARLY PEARSON laced a single to left field which allowed Bacon to score.

However this wouldn’t deter the Crusaders as they showed why they are one of the top programs in the county as they tied the game in the bottom of the fourth. Their captain KELLIE WHITE knocked in two runs with a single up the middle to even the score 3-3. They would take the lead for good in the fifth as they pounded out three singles to make the score 4-3.

Brawley 4, Santana 1 – The Santana Sultans took on the Brawley Wildcats in the semifinals of the Monarch Classic and unfortunately couldn’t hold on as they dropped the 4-1 decision, Saturday (Apr. 2nd).
Santana took an early 1-0 lead as RACHEL WILSON (RUN) reached on an error, JORDAN TEEGARDEN sacrificed Wilson to second. Wilson would score a couple batters later when NICOLE PENTON MARCH (1-3, RBI) knocked her in with a single.
