Steele Canyon shot the lights out at home and beat Ramona, 249-238, at Steele Canyon GC (par 35) in a non-league match. The Cougars’ Julianna Loibl, a senior, was the medalist with a 44.
Valhalla defeated Santana, 241-336.
Cathedral Catholic downed West Hills, 224-266 at Carlton Oaks CC (par 36).

Steele Canyon opened up the league season with a 275-319 victory over El Capitan at Steele Canyon GC (par 35) on Tuesday afternoon.
The Cougars’ Julianna Loibl, a senior, and the Vaqueros’ Breann Horn, a sophomore, were co-medalsists, both carding a 39.
West Hills opened the league campaign with a 285-343 win over Mount Miguel at Carlton Oaks CC (par 36). Medalist: Nettles (WH) 48.
Valhalla picked up another non-league victory, downing Horizon Christian, 241-265, at Sycuan Oak Glen (par 35). Medalists: Ksiazek and Huerta (Val) 43.

West Hills’ Kenna Caracato shot a 40 at Carlton Oaks CC (par 36) on Monday afternoon, leading the Wolf Pack to a 253-259 win over Horizon Christian. West Hills improved to 1-1 on the season.
Meanwhile, Cathedral Catholic defeated Valhalla, 214-253, at Riverwalk Friars Nine (par 36), handing Valhalla its first loss of the season in three matches.
Thursday, Aug. 20
Valhalla improved to 2-0 in nonleague competition with a one stroke win (259-26) at Sycuan Willow Glen (par 36) on Thursday afternoon.
Wednesday, Aug. 19
Cathedral Catholic sent a pair of teams out on Wednesday to defeat a couple of East County schools in a couple of nonleague openers.
The Dons defeated the Wolf Pack, 242-276, at Fairbanks Ranch (par 36), although West Hills’ Kenna Caricato shot a 43 to take medalist honors.
The Dons also sent out a “B” squad, which defeated El Capitan, 276-299, at Riverwalk (par 36).

Valhalla defeated Francis Parker, 254-282, at Riverwalk (par 36) on Tuesday in a nonleague contest. Valhalla senior Stephanie Ksiazek shot a 43 for medalist honors.
