EL CAJON (1-29-16) — Three East County graduates have been named to the All-State Team by CalHiSports.com.
Granite Hills’ JACOB BURTON, who is bound for UCLA, was a first team pick, while DANIEL BENDER of Valhalla also made the first team unit as he is advancing to Washington State University.
Not bad . . . two players from East County making the Pac-12.
Burton is a bounce back to UCLA after accepting a ride to Arizona. Bender left San Diego State to accept a ride to Washington State.
Meanwhile, Santana’s center, JACOB KITTEN earned All-State second team honors but is yet seeking a scholarship.
Another ride:
Granite Hills linebacker KELLEN GAEIR has committed to accepting a scholarship to the University of San Diego.
