ESCONDIDO (12-22-12) — The El Cajon Valley Braves are attacking the season in a stealth manner as they have posted four wins without a loss, including a double-header sweep in Monday’s (Dec. 21) Orange Glen Christmas Jamboree.
The Braves’ mainstay in the twin-killing was sophomore guard LEANNA WATSON, who buried 47 points as El Cajon Valley toppled Del Lago 65-21 and Calvary Christian Academy 42-21. She also grabbed 16 rebounds, dished 11 assists and made 13 steals.
Against Del Lago TITISHIA CLEMONS popped in 8 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. MARY AWADICH also pulled down 9 rebounds to go with her 7 points.
SUMAYA HAMEED rolled a double-double in the Calvary Christian of 10 points and 11 rebounds.

LEADING EDGE ACADEMY, AZ 64, GROSSMONT 30
GROSSMONT 55, PREUSS 25 – Nobody scored in double figures for the Foothillers in the early game against the Spartans of Arizona, although ATHENA SOTELO tossed in 9 points and TAISHA SILAS added 8 points.
But Grossmont’s offense improved greatly against Preuss as the Foothillers took a 33-15 halftime advantage in Monday’s (Dec. 21) Orange Glen Christmas Jamboree double-header.
Silas scored 15 points against Preuss, including one 3-pointer and 3 rebounds and a steal.
SYMONE GRIFFITH chipped in with 11 points and 4 steals for the Foothillers (7-2).
Against Arizona’s Leading Edge Academy, Grossmont coach GRACE CAMPBELL said, “This will be the toughest team we’ll face this year. I’m glad we got the needed experience with playing against the last years state champions in Arizona. We played well against them and played great under the pressure, they were just a better team
