DEL CERRO (4-14-22) – The early four runs scored by the visiting Bonita Vista Barons would hold up as they claimed the 7-2 victory over the Patrick Henry Patriots in non-league action on Thursday afternoon.
Giulianna Clavel would start things off with a solo home run in the top of the first to give the Barons a 1-0 lead. They would add a pair of runs in the top of the second inning courtesy of a two-run single and another run in the inning a couple of batters later on a base hit.
Trailing 5-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning the Patriots would finally get on the board in the game as McKenna Geiger doubled with one out, she would later score on an error by the Barons which made it 5-1.
Patrick Henry trailing 7-1 after Bonita Vista scored twice in the top of the sixth inning would push across another run in the bottom of the sixth inning thanks to a Geiger base hit that scored Malia Savage to make it 7-2.
Unfortunately, that would be all Patrick Henry would muster scoring-wise as Bonita Vista despite allowing a double by Jenel Mallari would retire the next batter to claim the victory.
Olivia Gigante of the Patriots would have a pair of hits.
