CHULA VISTA – The West Hills Wolf Pack has been nearly perfect this season.

West Hills improved to 3-0 with another almost flawless performance in defeating the host Olympian Eagles, 42-12, on Friday night.

West Hills quarterback Braden Oberg passed for two touchdowns and rushed for two touchdowns as part of a 189-yard night of total offense.

Oberg has seven touchdown passes with no interceptions this season but he continues to strive for perfection despite the Pack’s undefeated mark.

“This week was definitely a step in the right direction,” Oberg said. “I think we played better football in general (tonight). Obviously, it feels great to be 3-0 and I think our focus is just to keep getting better every week.”

The Wolf Pack scored first to take an early 7-0 lead as Fredrick Rowbotham scored on a 15-yard touchdown run.

Olympian countered with a touchdown in the second quarter to make it 7-6.

Max Conaway had four receptions on the night, including a 61-yard touchdown hookup with Oberg to put West Hills ahead 14-6 in the second quarter. He finished with 111 yards receiving and now has five touchdown receptions in three games.

West Hills then quickly took a 21-7 lead on a 9-yard touchdown from Oberg to senior Elias Sanchez.

Dylan Snyder kicked a 43-yard field goal to make it 24-6 as West Hills led by 18 at halftime.

The Wolf Pack scored on a 10-yard run by Oberg to make it 31-6

The Eagles scored a touchdown to get to make it 21-12 but a two-point try was unsuccessful.

Wets Hills scored on another touchdown by Oberg for a 38-12 lead.

Snyder added a 23-yard field goal for West Hills to make it 41-12.

Dylan Snyder had six receptions on offense and an interception on defense for West Hills.

Donavan Mjelde also had an interception for West Hills.

Ashton Callan, Trevor imbimbo and Jack Tracy, a junior, had sacks for West HIlls.

“We really had our worst special teams play last week so we put an emphasis on that in practice,” West Hills head coach Casey Ash said. “We threw the ball well we ran the ball well, even though it probably won’t show in the statistics because of a couple of dropped balls. I’m also happy we were able to get the lead and have everyone play tonight.”

West Hills is set for a big sectional matchup next Friday night when they travel to meet the Escondido Cougars (2-1). The game is sure to be tightly-contested.
