SPRING VALLEY – The Mount Miguel Matadors defeated the visiting West Covina Bulldogs, 65-35, in a CIF State SoCal Division III Regional playoff game on Tuesday night.
The blowout was on early and the Matadors eventually led 53-25 after three quarters.
Mt. Miguel led after the first quarter, 20-9.

KING 79, CHRISTIAN 55 – The host Wolves took a double-digit lead early and rolled to a win over Christian in the first round of the CIF State Southern California Division I regional in Riverside.
King (27-6) grabbed a 12-4 lead three minutes into the game, with 10 of the points coming on offensive putbacks. The Wolves led by as many as 18 points in the opening period before Christian’s Amaya Howard sank a late 3-pointer.
Simone James and Allie Carreon helped Christian put up points. James scored a game-high 28 points, and Carreon added 13.
The King girls were limited to just 37 percent shooting by Christian.
The Wolves, however, grabbed 47 rebounds, many on the offensive side that led to 39 second-chance points.
Christian finished 19-12.
