Helix beats El Capitan in Grossmont League showdown

El Cajon Valley scores a goal Tuesday night in a 1-0 win over Granite Hills.

LAKESIDE – Helix improved to 5-0 handing El Capitan its first loss of the league season with a 2-0 win here Tuesday afternoon.
A scoreless game through the first half between the league powers, but Helix came through with a pair of goal in the second half.
Senior Casey Harris scored on an assist by senior Jenna Asimos, then freshman Sadie Nevelle scored later in the half, again from Asimos.
Helix improved to 8-9-3 overall.
El Cajon Valley 1, Granite Hills 0 – El Cajon Valley earned its first win of the season. The Braves had previous been shutout in its first four league games.
Santana 2, Valhalla 0 – Santana is 2-1 in league.
