Alex Spanos Classic loaded with East County athletes

SAN DIEGO (7-3-15) — The 25th Annual Alex Spanos Classic will be held on Saturday (July 11) at San Diego Mesa College at 6 p.m.
More than a dozen East County players will participate in the event, which is the longest running high school all-star football game in California.
Coach RON BURNER and his El Capitan staff will coach the South All-Stars, who have won four straight in the series including 21-17 a year ago. John Anderson of Orange Glen will coach the North All-Stars.
Among the East County players selected to play for the South are quarterback BRAD CAGLE, slotback ISAIAH CAPOOCIA, linebackers JOSEPH LaCHAPPA and JARRED TURNER, defensive end CLAY CROMWELL, strong safety ZACH CAGLE – all from El Capitan. Granite Hills’ MICHAEL LEDESMA (WR-DB) is also on the squad as are versatile MATTHEW SHEARIN from El Cajon Valley, linebacker JACOB DENSON, offensive linemen LOGAN CANDELARIO and MARCUS MORGAN from Grossmont, and defensive back RAPHY CARR and linebacker ALFONSO GREGG from West Hills.
Ticket prices are $10 adults and $5 for children.
