SAN DIEGO – The Grossmont Foothillers remained one of seven undefeated girls teams in San Diego County on Monday night with a 70-28 win over the Mission Bay Buccaneers in a Crawford Tournament game.
Senior guard MARISSA GILES scored 16 points to lead the Foothillers, while sophomore teammate ANYSSA CHARGUALAF added 15 points, including 7-of-10 from the free throw line, and six rebounds.
Senior guard ATHENA SOTELO added 11 points and six rebounds for the Hillers.
Grossmont junior SARAH HENRY contributed eight points.
Junior ALEX PURNELL led Grossmont on the glass with 10 rebounds.
Grossmont led 23-7 at the end of one quarter and 47-12 at halftime.
The 6-0 Foothillers were eighth in the latest section power ratings. The Hillers meet Crawford on Thursday.
LIBERTY CHARTER 43, VICTORY CHRISTIAN 22 – Liberty Charter, currently ranked No. 3 in Division V, improved to 7-2.
HILLTOP 52, GRANITE HILLS 9 – The Lancers downed the Eagles in a Crawford Tournament game.
