GROSSMONT VALLEY LEAGUE
VALHALLA 9, EL CAPITAN 2
The Norsemen took advantage of opportunities including miscues by the Vaqueros to push across runs and a stellar performance in the circle helped claim the victory.
Valhalla got rolling in the top of the first inning as they were able to push across a run to lead 1-0 early on. However, the Vaqueros came right back in the bottom of the first and tied things up at 1-1.
Both teams pitching shut the others’ offense down in both the second and third innings to keep the game tied.
However, in the top of the fourth, the Norsemen took advantage of opportunities and were able to score four runs to take a 5-1 lead. El Capitan answered in the bottom of the fifth with a run to cut the deficit 5-2.
Valhalla again came right back in the top of the sixth with four more runs to round out their scoring.
Delaney Stettler for the Norsemen shut down the Vaqueros in the bottom of the seventh to end the game and claim the victory.

Stettler for the Norsemen went all 7 innings to get the complete-game victory.
El Capitan despite the loss has still positioned themselves in the Division III playoffs.
