Brown delivers as Foothillers roll to victory

It was a big day not only for the Foothillers themselves but also Jordan Brown (3-3, 2R, 7 RBI, 2B, 3B) as she knocked in seven RBI’s on the day as she went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate.
Grossmont got it started in the bottom of the second when Katie Appenzeller (1-2, 3R) led off by being hit by a pitch, Kimmy Bond (1-3, 2B, 2R) ripped a double to put runners on second and third with no outs, Appenzeller scored on a passed ball and Bond came in on a single by Brown to make it 2-0.
The Foothillers extended their lead in the bottom of the second inning as Brown once again did the damage as she hit a bases clearing triple that scored Jessica Medlin (3-3, 2R, 2 2B), Appenzeller and Bond which made it 5-0. The next batter Samaria Roope (2-2, RBI) singled to score Brown, Jessica Medlin into run for Roope, Aly Allman (2-4, R, 3 RBI, 2 3B) followed with a smash triple to score Medlin to push the lead to 7-0.
Point Loma trailing heading to the top of the third inning finally broke through as they were able to take advantage of opportunities and push across a couple of runs to but the lead 7-2.
However the Foothillers answered back in the bottom of the third as Brown again cleared the bases as she hit a double to score Medlin, Appenzeller and Kati Contreras (1-3, R) to make it 10-2. A couple batters later Allman lined a triple to score both Brown and Jamie Medlin and Candace Henderson rounded out the scoring with a single to score Medlin.
Overall Grossmont pounded out 15 hits including multiple extra hits on the day.
Garnering the victory was Roope who went the full 5 innings giving up 3 runs of which only 1 was earned on 2 hits while walking 0 and striking out 6 on the day.
