The second-seeded Matadors would lead 20-6 after the first quarter.
Westview, seeded seventh, trailed 27-15 at halftime.
Douglas scored the first bucket of the game, then moments later, senior MICHELLE CORLEY recorded a steal and threw to Peterson underneath for an assist and the Matadors were off to a fast start.
Junior LALLI GURROLA and TIAJA BENNETT both hit a three-pointer in the first quarter.
Peterson then added a three to make it 18-5.
The Wolverines stuck with the game plan and were able to eventually able to break the Matadors’ press better after a little repetition.
Mount Miguel, winners of six-straight games, will host sixth-seeded La Costa Canyon in the San Diego CIF Open Division semifinals.
