EAST COUNTY SOFTBALL ALUMNI
By Adam Paul
It was a good week for Cassie Van Til for the week of January 29th through February 4th who played who her high school ball at Patrick Henry and was a multi All-East County First team selection. This past week for the Southwestern College Jaguars, Van Till who is a freshman was able to provide some offense as she went 2-3 which included belting a triple, stole a base and knocked in a run and also scored as the Jaguars opened up the season home stand with a 6-1 victory over Orange Coast. For these efforts she was selected as a CO-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Player of The Week.
Besides her opening home stand efforts, Van Til has really shown her prowess when in the lineup. Against Cerritos on the 10th she went 2-4 and knocked in a run to help the Jaguars win 2-1. On the season so far she has gone 8-20 for a .400 clip while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 and stealing 2 bases.
