HELIX 46, RANCHO BUENA VISTA 33 – AMARI GREEN of the Highlanders was named to the Hilltop Tournament All-Tournament team following the Scotties’ defensive-minded win over the Longhorns and Tournament MVP Nathaniel Romero.
Helix had a great defensive effort.MAURICE HOLMES led Helix with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while JAVON DAVIS turned in a workman-like performance with eight points and eight rebounds.

Holmes had a long-distance three-ball in the effort in the second half.
Green knocked down a mid-range jumper against the Longhorns’ zone as both teams struggled to find an offensive rhythm in the third early on.
Helix led 22-17 at halftime and 31-24 through three.
Helix (3-2) is next in action on Monday, Dec. 18 against Morse at the Sweetwater Tournament at Sweetwater High at 5 p.m.
WEST HILLS 60, MT. CARMEL 58 (OT) – West Hills’ CAMERON BARRY scored 25 points and was named as an All-Tournament selection at the Horsman Automotive Wolf Pack Tournament as the Pack rallied from a 35-26 halftime deficit to win in overtime.
Senior guard ADAM DILLON and junior forward MATTHEW MCDONALD each scored 9 points for West Hills.
Barry scored 13 of West Hills’ 17 first-quarter points. He had 12 rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Barry, a senior guard, hit a three-pointer in OT for an early lead, but fouled out late in the extra session.
Junior guard MICHAEL TOTAH passed to senior guard CHRIS SCHROEDER for a layup to give West Hills the late lead.
West Hills (2-3) will face Otay Ranch next Saturday, Dec. 16 at 4:30 p.m.
VALHALLA 55, CLAIREMONT 48 – TREVONE WIMS, a junior guard, scored 18 points to lead the Norsemen over the visiting Chieftains.
Valhalla improved to 2-3 with the win.
Valhalla will face Escondido on the road next Tuesday at 7 p.m.
EL CAJON VALLEY 93, SAN PASQUAL 51 – The Braves racked up a 42-point win over the winless Golden Eagles in a Santana Shootout game at Grossmont High.
El Cajon Valley improved to 2-3 on the season. The Braves next face San Diego Academy on the road on Thursday at 6 p.m.
MATER DEI CATHOLIC 73, CHRISTIAN 43 – The seventh-ranked Crusaders pulled away from the Patriots.
Junior JACKSON LARSEN had 13 points and senior NASHOM CARTER added 12 points and nine rebounds, but Christian shot just 17-for-56 from the field on the road.
Christian (3-2) will meet Del Norte on Tuesday at 7:30 at Ryan Athletic Center.
