Calvert wins two at USA Baseball tourney

SANTEE (6-30-15) — COLTON CALVERT, who will be a junior at Santana in the fall, has made a major impact while playing in the USA Baseball 17U tournament in Peoria, Ariz.
Playing for the SoCal Dirtbags (an affiliate of Long Beach State University) who are 4-1 in pool play, Calvert went 2-0 with a total of 10 innings pitched with an ERA of 2.10 and 9K’s. His two wins came against ZootsBaseballAcademy from northern California, and the SoCal White Sox Scout Team from Long Beach.
Calvert, a left-handed pitcher and outfielder for the Sultans, was selected to the 2nd team All-Grossmont Valley League as a sophomore.
