ALL-SAN DIEGO TEAM

PITCHER OF THE YEAR

P — Megan Faraimo, Cathedral Catholic of San Diego, 2018

The UCLA-committed Faraimo was nearly unstoppable when she was in the circle this season. The Dons were 27-5-1 this season and they were 27-1 with the junior right-hander on the bump. She finished with 14 shutouts a 0.60 ERA and 251 strikeouts in 175.1 innings, leading Cathedral Catholic to a Western League title and the CIF-SDS Open Division championship. Faraimo also batted .402 with three homers, 10 doubles, a triple, 26 runs and 26 RBI. She saved her best performance for last, throwing a five-hit shutout with 17 strikeouts to lead the Dons to a 3-0 win in 10 innings over Ramona of Ramona in the Open Division finals. Faraimo is the So Cal Sidelines San Diego Pitcher of the Year.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR

P/UT — Hanah Bowen, Ramona of Ramona, 2017

The Arizona-bound right-hander went 24-1 with a 0.94 ERA, seven shutouts, two no-hitters and 174 strikeouts in 141 innings and she batted .489 with three homers, 15 doubles, a triple, 30 runs and 33 RBI to help the Bulldogs win a fourth consecutive Valley League title and reach the CIF-SDS Open Division finals. Bowen’s performance earned her the So Cal Sidelines San Diego Player of the Year award.

FRESHMAN PLAYER OF THE YEAR

P — Staci Chambers, Granite Hills of El Cajon, 2020

Owner of a wicked change-up, the Cal State Fullerton-committed southpaw led the Eagles to a Grossmont Hills League title and the CIF-SDS Open Division semifinals. Chambers went 9-3 with a 0.90 ERA and struck out 111 in 101.2 innings to help Granite Hills compile a record of 24-9-1. The Eagles are sure to be in the hunt for a CIF-SDS title in the next few years with the So Cal Sidelines San Diego Freshman Player of the Year on the bump.

COACH OF THE YEAR

George Gentry, Christian of El Cajon

After winning the CIF-SDS Division IV title last season, the Patriots got moved up a division and Coach Gentry guided Christian to a second-place finish in the Eastern League before leading them to a Division III championship, which included a 6-4 upset over top-seeded High Tech of San Diego in the finals.

FIRST TEAM

P — Payton Tidd, San Marcos of San Marcos, 2018

The two-time Avocado East League Pitcher of the Year went 20-3 with a 0.82 ERA, four shutouts and 123 strikeouts in 111 innings and she batted .422 with six homers, seven doubles, 23 runs and 39 RBI to lead the Knights to another league title and the CIF-SDS Open Division semifinals.

P — Lexi Sosa, Mater Dei Catholic of Chula Vista, 2019

The UCLA-committed right-hander did damage with her bat and and her arm, leading the Crusaders to a Metro Mesa League title and the third round of the CIF-SDS Open Division playoffs.

P — Madison Mendez, Santana of Santee, 2019

The Weber State-committed right-hander was a dual threat for the Sultans, going 24-7 with a 2.03 ERA, seven shutouts and 138 strikeouts in 213.1 innings and batting .350 with eight homers, 14 doubles, 14 runs and 25 RBI to help Santana win the CIF-SDS Division II championship.

P — Madison James, Patrick Henry of San Diego, 2017

James went 19-7 with a 2.96 ERA, three shutouts and 117 strikeouts in 139.1 innings and she batted .400 with 10 home runs, nine doubles, 25 runs and 42 RBI to lead the Patriots to the CIF-SDS Division I finals.

C — Mackenzie Bennett, Santana of Santee, 2018

The Stephen F. Austin State-committed catcher batted .500 with nine home runs, 15 doubles, 17 runs and 27 RBI to help lead the Sultans to the CIF-SDS Division II title. It was her second straight season with nine home runs.

IF — Deshea Hill, Carlsbad, 2017

The Cal State Fullerton-bound infielder batted .470 with nine home runs and 42 RBIs and she hit .818 in the postseason to help the Lancers win the CIF-SDS Division I championship. She was named the Avocado West League Player of the Year and made first team All-CIF-SDS.

IF — Lexi Orozco, San Marcos of San Marcos, 2018

The first team All-Avocado East League and All-CIF-SDS selection batted .404 with 12 home runs, seven doubles, 22 runs and 27 RBI for the Knights.

IF — Seneca Curo, Ramona of Ramona, 2019

The UCLA-committed speedster batted .462 with 10 home runs, nine doubles, 48 runs, and 39 RBI to lead the Bulldogs to the CIF-SDS Open Division title game.

IF — Sydney Steele, Poway, 2019

The Auburn-committed infielder batted .443 with six homers, seven doubles, three triples, 28 runs, nine stolen bases and 40 RBI to help the Titans win the Palomar League title and earn Palomar League Player of the Year honors.

OF — Hannah McEwen, Patrick Henry of San Diego, 2017

The Arkansas-bound outfielder put up some huge numbers in her senior season, finishing with a .521 batting average, six homers, 16 doubles, two triples, 41 runs and 28 RBI to help the Patriots reach the CIF-SDS Division I title game.

OF — Livy Schiele, Bishop’s of La Jolla, 2017

The Auburn-bound outfielder batted .533 with six homers, 18 doubles, five triples, 45 runs and 34 RBI, finishing her career with 203 runs and 200 hits for the Knights.

OF — Jordyn Fick, Ramona of Ramona, 2017

The San Diego State-bound outfielder batted .422 with two homers, nine doubles, a triple, 37 runs and 24 RBI for the Bulldogs.

DH — Ari Quinones, Mission Hills of San Marcos, 2018

The Washington-committed shortstop batted .632 with three homers, 20 doubles, three triples, 33 runs and 29 RBI and she made first team All-Avocado East League.

UT — Silent Rain Espinoza, Christian of El Cajon, 2018

The Washington-committed infielder batted .569 with 15 stolen bases, nine homers, 19 doubles, three triples, 64 runs and 34 RBI to help the Patriots win their second straight CIF-SDS title. The Cal State Fullerton-committed outfielder/second baseman batted .429 with 11 home runs, 13 doubles, four triples, 48 runs and 37 RBI for the Bulldogs.
