SAN DIEGO (2-17-17) — Led by the 22 points of MARISSA GILES, the Christian Patriots came within two games of second place in Central League play, as their bid to finished tied for second fell short Thursday night.
The Patriots (13-7 overall) fell to second-place Clairemont 43-32 on Thursday (Feb. 16) in the final regular season game.
“We were down a couple of players tonight – one injured and one on a college recruiting trip,” said Christian coach TIFFANY GILES. “(Clairemont) double-teamed Marissa all night. I was really proud of my guards tonight. We didn’t have subs for them.”
Christian currently sits on the playoff bubble in Division 4, but as of now would qualify as the No. 12 and last seed pending results of their remaining contenders this evening.
Christian: Marissa Giles 22 (1 reb, 1 ast, 3 stl), Cipriana Hudson 6 (4 reb, 1 stl), Alyssa Rothrock 3 (1 reb), Hayley Robinson (11 reb, 1 ast, 1 stl).
