Knights end Griffins’ winning streak, close gap

SAN DIEGO (2-12-17) — Grossmont College suffered a frustrating 67-66 loss at Harry West Gym against San Diego City College on Friday (Feb. 10).

The Griffins had the game in hand at the end of the third quarter with the score sitting at 57-50, but then stumbled in the final quarter to come up a point short against the Knights.

KAMREE HARRISON led the Griffins with 17 points, 5 steals, 4 assists and 2 rebounds.

BRITTANY GAFARE pitched in 10 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and 2 steals.

KYRA BRUESEWITZ also contributed 10 points, snared 5 rebounds, dealt 3 assists and made 4 steals.

Grossmont had won seven-straight games, but still hold a half-game lead over the Knights. Grossmont is 5-1, while City is 5-2, so the Griffins control their own destiny in order to win the league championship outright.
