West Hills can’t hang with Knights

SANTEE (1-19-17) — No team in East County has been able to sideline top-ranked Foothills Christian over the last two seasons.

The West Hills Wolf Pack gave it a shot, but the Knights rattled off the game’s first 10 points, taking a 22-12 lead late in the first quarter of Wednesday’s (Jan. 18) non-league encounter.

Foothills Christian outscored West Hills across the board, taking a 46-24 halftime lead and finishing with an 84-48 victory over the Pack.

CAMERON BARRY played 31 minutes, producing 19 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assissts, 5 steals and a block. Barry hit 5 of 17 shots including 3 triples. Barry had eight points in the first half.

NATHAN BALL tallied 6 points.

Nobody else for West Hills scored more than 6 points.

West Hills fans were not happy that Foothills Christian’s players were dunking and hanging on the rim throughout the game.

JAYLEN HANDS led the Knights’ dunk-fest with 33 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, while KALE BALDADO also got some “air time,” going for 13 points and 10 rebounds. He scored 18 points in the first half.

Mid-season addition DORIAN BLUE got rolling in this one with seven points and four rebounds.

The Knights had all players entered by the final minutes of the second period.

JORDAN VAN OMMERING had three assists in the game’s first minute during the opening spurt.
