VISTA (12-7-16) — West Hills, which figures to be one of the top teams in East County, ran roughshod over Vista Tuesday (Dec. 6). The Wolf Pack led 38-12 by halftime and finished with a 63-27 victory.
KERRIE DANIELS paced the Pack with 22 points and CARLY RALEY pitched in 10.
“We started off well, press looked good,” said Pack coach RYAN KINSER. “We forced a lot of turnovers which led to some easy baskets. I was happy that we jumped out strong and continued it the entire first half.”
“Vista had trouble stopping our posts, Daniels and Raley. VIVIAN PANELA played very well tonight, made shots and took care of the ball.”
“It was a good night. The girls played well and all of them got a good amount of playing time.”

MOUNT MIGUEL 62, EASTLAKE 53 – The Mount Miguel Matadors will face their first major challenge on Saturday (Dec. 10) when they host No. 1 ranked Mission Hills in the Matador Classic championship game at 5 p.m.
SATERA BATES knocked down 17 points with a trio of triples as the Matadors toppled the Titans.
The key to the victory for Mount Miguel was the ball-handling of LAILA SMITH, who not only knocked down a 3-pointer but dealt 8 scoring passes. She also scored 9 points.
Not to be overlooked was CAMARA DOUGLAS who banged in a game-high 18 points – half of them coming in the fourth quarter.
The Mount Miguel and Eastlake contest was a battle to the end as the two teams were knotted at 47-all at one point. It was tight. Smith scored all of her points in the fourth quarter to put the Matadors on top to stay.
“They just beat us to death on the glass,” Matadors coach ROBBIE SANDOVAL said.

CHRISTIAN 67, FOOTHILLS CHRISTIAN 23 – Christian made a runaway attack on Foothills Christian and cruised to a lopsided non-league victory over the Knights.
BROOKE OWENS hammered in a game-high 19 points for the Patriots and also grabbed 3 rebounds and made 3 steals.
MARISSA GILES chipped in with 17 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals.
“Everybody had lots of playing time,” said Patriots coach TIFFANY GILES.
Owens knocked down 3 threes and Giles hit a pair of treys for Christian.
