EastCountySports.com staff report
SANTEE – The West Hills Wolf Pack won in the state playoffs on Saturday night in a five-game thriller in their home gym.
In Division 3, the Pack beat Quartz Hill, 23-25, 26-24, 25-18, 15-25, 15-10.
Season team kills leader LAUREN LEDFORD, a senior, had 14 kills for West Hills, while senior LIZ DROGAN also led the winner’s charge.
West Hills (27-5) will play next on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at home against semifinalist (Santa Monica) Crossroads, as the No. 11 seed upset third-seeded Culver City in three.
Crossroads is 25-4 and has won 12-consecutive matches. Despite the Rebels’ low seed, the upcoming match is closely rated.
The Wolf Pack will rely on other stars, as well, including senior LINDSAY CAMPBELL and junior KENDALL CADY.
The Wolf Pack won their state playoff opener on Nov. 16 over Chatsworth, 25-18, 25-13, 25-20.
West Hills reached the San Diego Section Division 1 semifinals, falling to Del Norte, the eventual section champion.
The Wolf Pack went 8-0 to sweep the Grossmont Hills League title.
