EL CAJON (11-11-16) — When Grossmont College hosts Palomar College in Saturday’s (Nov. 12) regular season finale, a high-scoring shootout should be in the offing.
This is a match-up of quarterbacks. The shootout will be between Palomar’s Matt Romero, who’s connected for 2,305 yards for 20 touchdowns and Grossmont’s BRAD CAGLE, who missed a game due to an injury but has still connected on 130 passes for 1,826 yards.

Romero has been intercepted 10 times and sacked 20. Cagle has been intercepted 7 times and sacked 10.
The goal on the line for the Griffins is a shot at a bowl game if they shoot down the Comets.
When it comes down to running the football KEITH FULTON will carry the load for the Griffins. Running back NEHEMIAH BROWN is nursing a hamstring pull and is questionable to play.

On the defensive edge secondary ball hawk JORDAN ELLIS has picked off 9 passes this season to lead all of Southern California.

GRIFFIN GRAFFITI:  Grossmont leads the all-time series 18-11 over Palomar . . .  Ellis was named an SCFA Player of the Week as he took the state lead in interceptions with 3 more against Golden West . . . Wide receiver ADRIAN TOLBERT was nominated for Player of the Week after having caught 3 touchdowns with 7 catches for 134 yards in Grossmont’s 40-28 victory over Golden West . . . For the season, Tolbert has 41 receptions for 891 yards and 13 touchdowns.
