RANCHO PENASQUITOS – Mount Miguel junior Brandon Arrington may be a prized recruit by many of the top college football programs across the country, with more than 40 schools seeking his services.
However, following his performance at the 44th annual Mt. Carmel Invitational, the list should grow exponentially.
Still gowing at age 16, Arrington crossed the finish line in an amazing clocking of 10.24 seconds, captuing the competition in the 100 meters.
The markwhich was not wind-aided — is a new CIF-San Diego Section record, mpving on Arrington up the list among top contenders for the CIF state championship.
However, jis day was not done.
Arrington returned to the track to blitzed all competitors to claim the 200 meters. His time of 20.37 also topped the CIFSDS standard, but this event was barely wind-aided at 2.0 miles per hour.
