FULLERTON – Granite Hills High alum Sofia Mujica, pne of the moist honored layers in East County and CIF-San Diego Section history, continued to tear it up for the UCLA Bruins.

On Saturday (Mar. 1), Mujica equalled an all-time UCLA record by driving in 8 runs, leasding the 4th-ranked Bruins to an easy 26-5 pasting of Weber State at the Judi Garman Classic at Anderson Family Field.

The freshman catcher belted her first pair of collegiate homers in the process. Mujica first belted a grand slam for an early UCLA lead. She later belted a 3-run homer, then tied the mark first set by Amanda Kamekona in 2008 on an RBI basehit.
