FLETCHER HILLS – Kyla Palpallatoc finished with a gane-best 24 points, allowing Gerossmont College to clinch second place in ther Pacific Coast Athletic COnference after slapp[ing visiting San Diego City, 97-63, in Friday’s (Fev. 21) reguar-season finale.
A fast start saw Anayla Anderson score half of her 16 points in the first six minutes to build a 20-6 lead. And when Chaya Scott came off the bench to tally seven points, the advantage leaps to 27-11 by the conclusion of the first quarter.
For Grossmont (22-5 overall, 11-3 PCAC), a total of seven players recorded 8 points or more.
3C2A playoff pairings are expected to be announced this weekend.

FLETCHER HILLS — The one-two scoting punvh of Anayla Anderson (22 points) and Kyla Palpallatoc (20) fuled Grossmont College to a 41-25 halftime lead, taking down San Diego Mesa in Wednesday’s (feb. 19) battle for second place in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.
The Griffins not only reached the 21-win plateau for the second time this centiry, they prevented the Olympians (19-8 overall) from gaining win No. 20.
Grossmont concludes the regular season on Friday (Feb. 21), hosting San Diego City at 7 p.m. San Diego Mesafinishes at home to Imperial Valley in the battle for third place behind the Griffins and PCAC champion Palomar.

FLETCHER HILLS – Grossmont College designated hitter Talon Tucker placeds his claws on a 3-run homer in the first inning, then the Griffins posted six runs in the fourth to take down visiting L.A. Mission College, 12-6, in Monday’s (Feb. 17) holiday special at Noel Michelson Field.
Second baseman Noah Manasan snapped a4-4 deadlock with a 2-run double, then the rally was capped when first baseman M.J. Sweeney belted a 2-run home run.
Tucker’s drive to right field was is first long-ball of the season. Sweeney’s blast was his fourth, grabing a 10-4 lead. The ball also went to right, landing near the dome of the college’s space telescope.

FLETCHER HILLS – In a strange performance, Grossmont College looked like world beaters in the second game of a double-header after stinking up the joint in the opening in a split against Victor Valley College.
Grossmont held a 3-2 lead after two innings, then committed an unsightly nine errors to hand nine unearned runs to the Rams — indeed, it was ugly.
However, the Griffins looked like a completely different team in a sparkling 4-1 decision.

Kate Manes
Winning pitcher Kate Manes (Christian HS) scattered 8 hits, b the difference was not allowing a walk.
Grossmont catcher Kate Ours snapped a 1-1 deadlock with a 2-RBI hit in the fifth inning.
Victor Valley (4-5) brought the potential game-tying run to the plate in the seventh inning, but Manes escaped on a vivctory-clinching ground ball to second baseman Mariah Mata,
Grossmont (2-8), which snapped a 4-game losing skid, next open Pacific Coast Athletic Conference action by hosting Imperial Valley on Thursday (Feb. 27), starting at 3 p.m.
