FLETCHER HILLS – Grossmont College designated hitter Talon Tucker placeds his claws on a 3-run homer in the first inning, then the Griffins posted six runs in the fourth to take down visiting L.A. Mission College, 12-6, in Monday’s (Feb. 17) holiday special at Noel Michelson Field.
Second baseman Noah Manasan snapped a4-4 deadlock with a 2-run double, then the rally was capped when first baseman M.J. Sweeney belted a 2-run home run.
Tucker’s drive to right field was is first long-ball of the season. Sweeney’s blast was his fourth, grabing a 10-4 lead. The ball also went to right, landing near the dome of the college’s space telescope.
