LA MESA – In a battle between the preseason favorites to capture the Grossmont Hills League, Helix scored the opening oal of the second half to movr rvrn eith Valhalla at 4-all
However, the visiting Norsemen answered with four unanswered goals to close the period, going on to a 12-7 triumph over the Highlanders, assuming undisputed possion of the GHL lead.
Two of the jet Valhalla goals in the third were scored by Ava Mammo, who led the Orange with three goals.
Also scoring key goalsin the third were ambria Torretto and Mairin Furlong.
Gia Jacon also tallied three times for Valhalla (6-3 overall, 2-0 GHL).
Meanwhile, Valhalla goalie Gianna Adams, registed a trio of arms-extended saves to thwart any Helix coeback, Adams finished with six saves to gain the victory.
In the opposite net, Scotties goalis Lauren Strocko was also solid, making five saves. Helix is now 5-5 on the season (1-1 GHL).
