Granite Hills 52, at Foothills Christian 50, at Bostonia Global HS

EMERALD – Foothills Christian converted the basket shot of the second quarter to grab a 10-point lead, but Granite Hills fought back during a Knights scoring drought, as the Eagles hung on to claim a 52-50 road, non-league victory. The contest was held at Bosotnia Global High (old Emerald Middle School).

The difference came in the thirfd period, when Foothills Christianmissed nine straight 3-point shots.

Meanwhile, in a single possession, Granite Hills grabbed five sdtarightoffensie rebounds before finslly scoring to push the lead to three points.

The Knights never got closer until hitting a rebound-basket at the final buzzer.

Granite Hills sophomore Jasen Hughes Jr. paced the Eagles with 25 points, including cvonsevutive long-distance shots in the fourth quarter to grab the lead (one shot was ruled foot-on-the-line).

For the Knights, Patrick Delahoussaye didn’t need to scorein the first period as other gave the team the early lead. But whenthey cooled off, the sophomorer forward poured in 25 points over the final three periods.

Granite Hills moved to 6-10 overall; Foothills Christian slips to 10-9.

El Capitan 68, at Santana 64

SANTEE – El Capitan saw six different players hit 3-point shots in the first half, taking a near wire-to-wire decision over host Santana.

Santana made one short run to movr even in the second quarter, but El Capitan’s Jason Wilson responded.

Wilson, a junior shooting guard drained a pair of 3-point goals to re-clim the lead for keeps. Wilson finished with 7 triples for a season-high 31 points.

Talk about fighting the good fight, Wilson’s previous season-best was 29 against another local rival, West Hills.

In addition for the Vasqueros, Kale Curo addd 12 points.

The Sultans did trim an 11-point deficit to pull even late in the third period, but the Vaq Attack again re-gained its outside shooting form to pill away for keeps.

For Santana, the Sultans were cold fromthe floor to start, as only Ethan Miller found the basketball with 10 points in the opening quarter,

The second-quarter comeback was fueled by Dain Diaz, who scored 11 by the end of the half. Diaz finished with a Sultans-best 23 points.
