2024-25 COMMUNITY COLLEGE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
ECS staff report
– Here’s a story on Cuyamaca College women’s basketball that is hard to believe. But since it was host L.A. Harbor College — traditionally not the best scorekeepers in the world — here is a report from the school’s boxscore.
The visiting Coyotes allowed the game’s first 11 points, not scoring until there was a mere 10.5 left in th first quarter on a jumpe shot by Catherine Jordan.
However, the Coyotes marched back with as big of a second quarter as any in school history — officials were not sure ifd it was a school record — by posting a mammoth 35 points in the second quarter, going on to a 70-43 deicsion over the Seahawks.
Considering that LAHC lost its previous ballgame by 93 points – 116-23 to Santa Monica — it seems Cuyamaca will be improved following a three-year hiatus.
For Cuyamaca, Jordan (Bayfront Charter) led in scoring with 17 poinys, followed by Yasi Sharpe-Shropshire (Lincoln, 15), Micyaah Flournoy (Monte Vista, 14) and Shania White (Bonita Vista, 12). BOXSCORE
Grossmont 64, Saddleback 31
FLETCHER HILLS – The Grossmont Griffins exploded to a 29-13 halftime lead, rolling past visiting Saddleback College of Mission Viejo, 64-31, in Friday’s (Nov. 8) non-conference contest.

Meanwhile, thee other players — Charlie Dagnino,Anayla Anderson and Kyla Palpallatoc — each added 12 points.
Howeverm the key for Grossmont was defense, holding the Bobcats to less than 10 points in three of the four quarters.
Grossmont’s Anayla Anderson led the team in steaswith four, followed by three each from Palpallatoc and Wilson in hadning Saddleback its first setback of the season.
