Fullerton 35, Palomar 0

SAN MARCOS – The possibility of gaining a post-season bowl game were on the line in this battle of 3-3 ballclubs, but the outvome was way too one-sided.

Visiting Fullerton Collehge broke open the scoressless contest with three touchdowns in the second quarter, rolling pastg Palomar College, 35-0, in Saturday’s (Oct. 26) National Conference Southern Division contest.

Hornets quarterback Tobey Schmidt fired two of his three TD passes in the decisive second period, but it was the Fullerton defense which keyed the victory.

With Palomar trailing 7-0, yet driving for ther game-tying score, Fullerton linebacker Perry Willams IV intercepterd the Comets pass andrumbled 78 yards for a touchdownm and the Hornets never looked back.

Schmidt finished with 195 yards on 13-for-20 passing, while running back Andreas Missick-Duncombe sealed the victory with a 70-yard TD gallop early in the fourth period.

Fullerton (4-3 overall) is now tied with Palomar (3-4 overall) at 2-2 in NCSD play, yet easily hold the tie-breaker as four schools usually gain bowl berths; the Comets currently rest in fifth place.

Next week, Palomar hits the road to southwest Riverside County for a tought contest against Mt. San Jacinto. The 6 p.m. start will be held at the Menifee campus and is the Eagles’ homecoming affair. READ MOREBOXSCORE
