CHULA VISTA- In a matchup between a pair of clubs both seeking to elevate into the state Top 10 rankings, Grossmont College was way too much to handle for El Camino College of Torrance. The Griffins raced to a 10-4 halftime lead, eventually whipping the Warriors, 21-11, Friday (Oct. 4) at the Southwestern College tank (pool).
However, in the second game of the mini–tournament, Saddleback College of Mission Viejo, the 9th-ranked program in California, would wind up as champions. The Bobcats obliterated the host Jaguars, 34-9, then beat the Griffins, 18-13.
Southwestern failed to supply boxscores or any other game information (well, except the final scores).
