Grossmont Valley League
Valhalla 4, West Hills 3
RANCHO SAN DIEGO – The Valhalla Norsemen assumed first place in the Grossmont Valley League, rebounding from a 3-0 deificr ro nip West Hills, 4-3, in the battle of GVL undedfeated ballclubs.
West Hills snapped the pitchers’ duel with three runs in the fourth inning. However, the Norsemen answered with two runs in the fifth and sixth to move a full game ahead of the Wolf Pack.
Braeden B Steveson (2-for-3) started the scoring after scoring following his double
Valhalla’s runs were produced on a two-run double by Mace Wheeler, then a Tanner Lough RBI single andan errpr broight home the other runs.
Mace Wheeler collected the pitching win in relief with two scoreless innings. Julian Jerjees garnered the save.
The Pack’s Nico N Hikes tossed four scoreless frames before exiting, striking out seven Norsemen batters.
El Caitan 8, Mount Miguel 2
LAKESIDE – Mount Miguel grabbed early leads of 1-0 and 2-1 before El Capitan closed with seven unanswered runs to claim a GVL victory at Hostetler Field.
Everyone contributed to the comeback as six different Vaqueros drovein runs, including an RBI double by Brody McAuliffe.
It wasn’t unil the fifth inning before El Cap broke the ballgame open by scoring four tmes. That’s when starting pither Landon Harbach exited after throwing a 4-hitter.
Monte Vista 9, El Cajon Valley 0
EL CAJON – The Monte Vista Monarchs scored in six of the seven innings, but the Braves still prevented them scoring double figures in Friday’s early matinee contest.
Jacob Schweizer drilled an RBI double in the first to open the scoring, following a run-scoring single from Gavin Daley before the Monarchs slowly tacked on the rest of the way.
Pride pitcher David Rodriguez tossed a 4-hitter, stopping the Braves early on by picking off a baserunner.

Vincent Memorial 5, Borrego Springs 4
CALEXICO – The dream of an undefeated league championship by the Borrego Springs Rams is gone, but the Manzanita League crown still remains just a few days away.
Vincent Memorial scored in the bottom of the seventh inning to nips the Rams, 5-4, to ruin the bid by the Rams after winning their first eight league contests.
