ECS staff report
LA MESA (Oct. 28) – The release of the football playoff pairings for the CIF San Diego Section championships are coming out slowly, but one key contest has been confirmed from non-official sources.
Helix (9-1 overall) has received the fourth seed in the Open Division and will meet top-rated Lincoln (10-0) in the semifinals, slated for Nov. 10 at The Hive.
Meanwhile, social media fully believes that unbeaten Granite Hills (10-0), the two-time reigning Grossmont Hills League champion, will shoot for their East County record-tying 20th consecutive victory in a ballgame with Carlsbad.
Only one question: which school will receive the No. 2 seed to gain the home-field advantage? This game is also be played on Nov. 10, but one of these two semifinal-round games could be moved to the following night.
MUCH MORE TO COME ON LATE SUNDAY.
