LA JOLLA — The Christian High Patriots defeated host La Jolla, 20-14, at Gene Edwards Stadium on Friday night to clinch the Eastern League championship.
Christian (5-4, 3-0) led 20-7 at halftime.
Junior quarterback Jake Davila rushed for two touchdowns and passed for another.

The Patriots’ defense limited the Vikings to just 143 yards of total offense.

Davila was 17 of 20 for 213 yards passing. He also rushed for 69 yards on 18 carries.
Provience caught 10 passes for 87 yards.
Brady Eads had three receptions for 50 yards for CHS.
Brady Bingham had 77 yards of total offense for the Patriots, including a pair of 30-yard receptions.
Payton Curry had two interceptions for Christian High.
Aiden Hypes led the Patriots’ defense with 3 1/2 tackles, including one for loss.
Aaron Shebloski and Provience both registered sacks for the Pats.
La Jolla (5-4, 1-1) trailed just 20-14 with 4:05 to play in the third quarter.
