West Hills 42, Valhalla 14
Quarterback Collin Dill, a junior, had an 8-for-10 passing performance for West Hills.
Sophomore Malachi Warthen and junior Diego Calderon had receiving touchdowns for West Hills. Calderon had a team-high 98 yards combined rushing and receiving.
Vince Keller, a senior, and Nate Stevens, a junior, had rushing touchdowns for the Wolf Pack.
Jack Tracy had a sack for the Pack.
West Hills recorded three interceptions on defense, as Cameron Quigley, Kaiden Chambers, and Stevens all recorded picks.
Stevens had a 59-yard pick-six on his aerial theft.
Valhalla had a breakout performance from junior Dominic Silva, who rushed for a touchdown and caught a TD pass. Silva had 184 total yards, including 141 rushing, and three catches.
Since early in the 2017 season, Valhalla has posted a composite record of 7-45, including winless campaigns in 2020 (0-6) and 2018 (0-10).
One small, positive note for Valhalla: with their 14 points, the Norsemen have scored 40 points this season, thus avoiding the modern-era East County record for fewest points in a season (39).
More than a century ago, Grossmont once went completely scoreless over an entire season (0-4 record) when the school first opened its doors in 1920.
