Scholar Athlete of the Year
Natalia Carmona (soccer, softball)
Carmona is one of the eight Scholar-Athletes of the Year covering the entire CIF-San Diego Section, as determined by the San Diego Sports Association. In soccer, she is a defensive specialist. Carmona carries a 4.15 GPA and will attend UC San Diego.

Calvan Cox (swim, water polo)
Cox, who carried an astounding, near-perfect 4.833 GPA, will be attending the Missouri University of Science and Technology. He will major in Chemical Engineering, with a double-minor in Chemistry and Spanish.
During his four years at Granite Hills, Cox, academically, was ranked first in his class every semester.
Over his four seasons as an athlete, Cox was a varsity swimmer for four seasons and a varsity water polo player for three seasons. In each, Cox also served as captain for two seasons in each sport.
Cavan was voted most athletic, by his peers, in the senior superlatives. He has spent the last three summers coaching summer league swimming. He plans to coach again this year as well.

Ben Haar (baseball)
The starting third baseman and pitcher for the Highlanders, Haar ranked among the East County leaders in several batting categories, including second in home runs (8) and game-winning RBI (5), and fifth in batting average (368), helping Helix gain a berth in the CIFSDS Open Division championship.

Stella Neville (field hockey, lacrosse)
Neville, owner of a clinquant (“glittering”) 4.69 GPA, is the all-time leader scorer in Helix field hockey history, capping her Scotties career with a 4-goal effort in the CIF quarterfinals. But itwas the opening round game she is proud of, the school’s first-ever postseason victory in an 12-10 decision over Valley Center. Neville broke the scoring record of 55 career goals set by Taylor Wright (2005-08). Like field hockey, she was a four-year starter in lacrosse.

Alexis “Alex” Schneider (four sports)
Schneider, who is best-known for her play in softball as a shortstop, carries a 4.00 GPA. She will attend the United States Naval Academy.

Kyle Dobyns (baseball): Despite missing most of his junior year in baseball due to injuries, Kyle bounced back to became all-league performer and was naed to the All-East County second team as a pitcher and designed hitter.. He led the Wolf Pack in home runs and RBI.
Will pitch for Grossmont College.

Sarah Wilson (water polo, swim): GPA: 4.513- Sarah was the Water Polo and Swim team captain, Water Polo All League, UT All Academic Team for Water Polo and Swim. Sarah after graduation will be attending San Diego State.
Austin Hanso (soccer), volleyball)n: GPA: 4.31- Austin was the Soccer and Volleyball team captain, All League in both Soccer and Volleyball, and UT All Academic Team for Soccer and Volleyball. Austin after Graduation will be attending Cal Baptist.
