SANTEE (3-22-22) – Ashtyn Niemiec and Gracie Johnston combined for a one-hit shutout victory for the Santana Sultans as they run-ruled the visiting Clairemont Chieftains, 12-0 in five innings, in non-league action on Tuesday afternoon.
Santana (7-5 overall) would go on to score eight runs in the bottom of the first inning to really put things away thanks to doubles by Madison Jordan (1-3, 2R, RBI, 2B), Kassidy Harper (1-3, R, RBI, 2B), and McKenna Miller (2-3, 2R, RBI, 2B). They would also score runs via multiple errors by Clairemont and a pair of singles.
Samantha Sullivan (2-2, R, 4 RBI) would knock in the first run for the Sultans when she singled to center field allowed Taylinn Warren (2-3, 3R, SB) to race around from first base, and scored to make it 1-0, the next batter Jordan doubled in Sullivan which was followed by a double by Harper to make it 3-0.
Millers’ double in the inning would bring home Hailey Phillips (1-1, 2R) and a couple of batters later Jordan again came to bat and this time she hit a ball that was misplayed allowing both Miller and Warren to round out the scoring.
Already leading 8-0 the Sultans would push across four more runs in the bottom of the third inning when Sullivan smashed a bases-clearing double to left field that scored Phillips, Miller, and Warren.
Later in the inning Aurelia Dawson (1-2, RBI) would single to center field to bring in Jordan to make round out the scoring for the Sultans.
Johnson would come into the game in the top of the fifth and would pretty easily retire the Chieftains to end the game.
Niemiec who started the contest would get the win with her four innings of work only allowing one hit while striking out two.

BONITA (3-22-22) – Four runs scored by the Bonita Vista Barons in the bottom of the fourth inning were all they needed as they limited the Granite Hills Eagles to two hits on the day in their 4-1 victory on Tuesday afternoon in Falcon Fiesta tournament action.
The lone hits and run for the Eagles came in the top of the sixth inning starting with a base hit by Kamryn Flath and later Audrey Smale roping a double to center field bringing Flath to score.
The loss now puts the Eagles record at 7-5-1 on the season.
