2022 EAST COUNTY PREP SOFTBALL
ECS staff report
EL CAJON — Following East County high school softball action on Friday (Mar. 11), there are news teams with better overall records in both the Grossmont Hills and Grossmont Valley league.
One is a regular postseason participant, the other is not.
Grossmont moved on top the GHL with the best winning percentage of non-league contests by whipping visiting Westview, 7-4.
The Foothillers mounted a 7-2 advantage at mid-game, then coasted home for the victory,
Grossmont (5-2) xurrenly hold a win percentage of .714, just a few clicks ahead of Steele Canyon (9-4), then Helix (6-3)
However, the startling new top dog in the GVL is El Cajon Valley.
The Braves recovered from a difficult loss to Crawford in less than 24 hours by swamping Lincoln, 12-4.
The triumph moved ECVHS’s record to 3-1, thus, in a virtual deadlock for the top spot with Valhalla (7-2) as the lone programs with winning records in the circuit.
Individual game reports were not available at press time.
