GRANITE HILLS 67, SANTANA 45 – The Eagles bounced back with a victory over the struggling Sultans on Tuesday in Santee.
Granite Hills improved to 10-3 on the season following a home loss to Monte Vista on Monday.
Granite’s Tre Edmond poured home 30 points and grabbed 16 rebounds. He also handed out seven assists.
“We had an all-around good game and I credit my offensive night to the team defense we played,” Edmond said.
The Eagles outscored the Sultans 20-0 in the first quarter.
“After a very uninspired start last night, I challenged our guys to bring the intensity on the defensive end and they answered,” Granite Hills head coach Dan
Lawond Zagana added 13 points and seven rebounds for the Eagles.
Isaiah Hasten, in his first varsity start, added 12 points and grabbed 10 boards. The sophomore also recorded six steals and blocked three shots.
“(Isaiah) played great,” Duffy said. “Tre had a very good game, as well. Derek Edmond was out from an injury (suffered) last night.”
