SANTEE – The West Hills Wolf Pack were defeated at home by the University City Centurions, 46-41, on Saturday.
West Hills lost for the third time in eight games this season, while the Centurions improved to 4-4.
The game was tied 17-all at halftime., but UC led 31-25 entering the fourth quarter.
“I’m really pleased with our progress and our ability to go hard day in and day out,” West Hills head coach Tim Barry said. “It’s been tough with only eight healthy players but we should be getting some guys back next weekend.”
Jake Partington led the Wolf Pack with 13 points, including dropping a three-pointer in each half.
Jake Kelly, of West Hills, added 11 points, including 7-of-10 from the foul stripe.
Meanwhile, the Centurions had eight players register points in the game.
“I thought the two Jakes (Partington and Kelly) kept us in it from the offensive side and the whole team clamped down defensively, we just missed too many chippies that made the difference,” Barry said.
Max Conoway added seven points, including six in the fourth quarter.
Zaid Salem added a three-pointer in the fourth.
Mater Dei Catholic won the Premier Division of the Jeff Armstrong Horsman Automotive Tournament, while Torrey Pines won the Feature Division of the annual Armstrong memorial event.
