WALNUT —- A rugged, 4-game road trio failed to produce a victory, yet the Grossmont College men’s basketball team believes they are prepared for the upcoming season.
The stretch of tough opponents was capped by Saturday’s (Nov. 13) with an 81-65 setback to Glendale in the final round of the Mt. San Antonio College Tournament.
Grossmont stayed within reach in the first half, only trailing 33-26 at the intermission. However, the Vaqueros came out f the locker room on a 13-2 to quickly put away the triumph.
The Griffins (0-4), still attempting to determine their full-time starting unit, saw Samuel Stewart IV (Helix) come off the bench to register a team-best 16 points. Nick Mason added 15 points and Vincent Warren (Christian) had 10.
At 3-3 overall, Glendale’s win gives every team in the South Division of the Western State Conference a mark of .500 or above
