SANTEE – On Senior Night, the West Hills Wolf Pack defeated visiting Clairemont High, 88-59, in a non-league contest on Wednesday.
Every Pack player (11 in all) recorded at least one field goal in the victory.
Senior Kyle Dobyns and Luke Gibson got many of the points, however, combining for 42 points overall.
“It feels good to be able to have the chance to stop up and take a large role on the offensive side with Kyle,” said Gibson, who made a three-pointer in the third quarter. “We have only a few games remaining and we’re planning to win them all to give us a shot at winning the league. We are ready to find out some big wins.”
Dobyns had a pair of three-pointers in the game, finishing with 22 points.
“We did a good job of moving the ball around and creating great shots despite not having Brendan (Greene) tonight,” Dobyns said. “I give a lot of credit to Luke for always guarding the best player and also giving them team buckets throughout the whole game.
Senior Sebastian Vann was next with 10 points for West Hills.
Senior Jarrett Hartwig, Jake Partington, senior Ryan Mallioux, senior Ashton Avestro, and senior Cash Creighton also made three-pointers for the 14th-ranked Wolf Pack.
“I tried to get all the seniors involved tonight,” Dobyns said.
LINCOLN 61, MOUNT MIGUEL 48 – The Hornets defeated the Matadors thanks in large part to a 20-2 advantage in the third quarter.
The Hornets led 26-19 at halftime.
Mount Miguel put on a fierce rally in the fourth, outscoring the Hornets 27-15 but the deficit was too large to overcome.
SAN MARCOS 82, FOOTHILLS CHRISTIAN 48 – The second-ranked undefeated San Marcos Knights defeated the Foothills Christian Knights in a non-conference game on Wednesday.
The game was manageable for three quarters for FCHS, but San Marcos wore Foothills down in the fourth, and quickly, winning the fourth quarter, 35-14.
Senior Derrien Carter-Hollinger helped Foothills Christian with 15 points.
Sophomore Derrius Carter-Hollinger scored 16 points for FCHS.
Junior Joseph Hankins added 11 points for Foothills.
