SPRING VALLEY – The Mount Miguel Lady Matadors – “Las Matadoras” – went over the 100-point plateau for the second time this season in a 103-10 win over Valhalla on Wednesday.
Juinor Danay Williams-Pope was the scoring leader with 26 points and 15 rebounds.
Junior Nataly Bravo scored 23 points, including three three-point field goals.
Sophomore Ixchel Rojo added 19 points and a team-high seven steals.
Senior Jennifer Moreno made three three-point field goals, as well. She had a team-high six assists.
MONTE VISTA 55, SOUTHWEST (SD) 22 – The Monarchs won again, improving to 10-1 on the season by defeating the host Raiders on Wednesday.
EL CAMINO 71, CHRISTIAN 53 – The Wildcats came out swinging, knocking off the Patriots on Wednesday.
Christian fell to 1-1, while El Camino is 4-2.
Tuesday’s games
GROSSMONT 60, OTAY RANCH 49 – DOMINEECE SILVELS had 24 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocked shots as Grossmont posted a huge comeback win over the Mustangs.
Grossmont trailed big early, falling behind 29-17 at halftime.
Grossmont outscored Otay, 22-9, in the fourth quarter.
Grossmont improved to 2-1 on the season.
LIBERTY CHARTER 57, FOOTHILLS CHRISTIAN 19 – The Lions won against the Knights in an East County matchup behind the scoring of Sabrina Espelet.
EL CAPITAN 69, EL CAMINO 16 – Emma Driskill scored 25 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and had five blocked shots.
Mackenzie Curtis had 16 points, 10 assists, six steals, and a team-high 17 rebounds.
Kaylee Cole handed out five helpers.
Natalie Danks had a three-pointer for El Cap.
GRANITE HILLS 48, KEARNY 24 – The Eagles won against the Komets for their second win of the season.
