BARONA INDIAN RESERVATION (2-24-2019) – San Diego Christian College pitchers Brock Mosier and Brendan Sweany combined to toss a 2-
Hope International took the opener, 8-3, before the Mosier-Sweany tandem rebounded the Hawks to a 3-0 decision in the second ballgame.
Mosier struck out six Royals batters in his
San Diego Christian scored all the runs it needed with two markers in the first.
Designated hitter Joel Pedretti reach on a two-out error, moved to second base when Ryan Culp walked, then scored on a David Blanset RBI grounder through the right side of the infield.
Kennedy Chun followed with a similar RBI single, but to the left side, to plate Culp for a 2-0 lead.
In the sixth, Culp and
Culp, the right fielder, also scored twice in the opener. Hr registered two hits, along with Pedretti, center fielder Tyler Schindel and shortstop Gabriel Ponce De Leon.
The Hawks (6-6 overall, 1-1 GSAC) will make-up Friday’s rain-outs with HIU on Monday, starting at 11 a.m. at Stars Field
