SAN DIEGO – The seventh-ranked Grossmont Foothillers made a day of high-level prep sports, dropping a top-notch pitcher’s duel 1-0 at Westview before taking in the Grossmont High girls basketball team’s
Senior JACK HYDE pitched five innings, striking out eight, allowing an earned run.
Grossmont could only produce a pair of base hits in the contest, along with a base on balls.

SERRA 10, MOUNT MIGUEL 2 – The Matadors fell to 0-2 at the Sweetwater Invitational.
The Matadors picked up single markers in the third and sixth frames.
