The Mount Miguel Matadors and Helix Highlanders will meet in a final-game, regular-season showdown for the Grossmont Hills League championship on Friday night following Wednesday’s result.
MOUNT MIGUEL 86, STEELE CANYON 67 – The great, surprising run for the league championship came to an end for the Cougars at home against the first-place Matadors.
Mount Miguel improved to 6-1 to move into a tie atop the Grossmont Hills League standings with Helix. The Matadors improved to 20-7
FOOTHILLS CHRISTIAN 66, SANTA FE CHRISTIAN 55 – The second-ranked Knights defeated the fourth-ranked Eagles in a highly-rated matchup at Cuyamaca College on Wednesday.
The Eagles got off to a quick 8-2 start but a three-pointer by YASSINE GHARRAM hit a three-pointer to make it 17-16, putting the Knights within one point
Foothills Christian led 29-25 at halftime.
